Do faith matters for moderates?
Religious wars have been fought among all major religions and sects across the world to prove their supremacy. Our history has n number of glorious record of all such major and minor wars to showcase bloody may of nonsense means. Such wars between Muslim and Christians have been called Crusades and claimed lives of lacks of innocent people. But, even now the key motive behind gruesome wars remains in mystery. Still, we witness such war like situation in any form all over the world. Even, India is not isolated from such religious confrontation, protest and hetre. Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is one of the notorious leaders, who has instigated stiff tussle between his followers and Sikhs community spread across the world.
Initially, Gurmeet Singh’s objectionable remark relevant to honorable Sikh Guru Govind Singh and showing himself like him irked Sikh community. People from this hardcore community came out on road to register their deep protest. People demanded his immediate arrest and dissolving his math situated in Sisara, Hariyana. At some places his followers and Sikhs came eye ball to eye boll like condition to take on each other with lethal weapons. Panjab government issued his arrest warrant, which prompted him to demand amnesty. Finally, his plea concluded the heated matter. Instead of teaching non-violence to followers, he himself engages into such tussle with hard-core religious people. Some religious committee heads from Sikh community even issued fatwa (religious order mostly give by Muslim community) to kill him at that time. So, from that day he is enjoying thick security cover from his personal bodyguards and government security officers.
Recently, he came to Mumbai for some personal reason where his bodyguard allegedly fired at one protesting Sikh youth. Sensing trouble he immediately rush to his Mysore Math. The youth succumbed to injuries while shifting to nearby hospital. This incident once again filled Sikh community from Maharashtra with anger. People from this community resorted to band and protest, which paralyze normal life in Mumbai. You could see hundreds Sikhs coming out on roads with open sword and Lathis. It was very horrible situation.
Now, crucial question arise that is should faith matters? Yes. But it should be up to some extent. We should not fall pray to someone ill design plans and rumors. And we should not indulge in antisocial activities on the name of religion. Religion teaches us constructing people’s life rather than resort to destruction. And religion doesn’t allow killing of innocent people and putting someone’s life into danger. At least moderates should not get into such undesirable trouble. People recognize us by our decency, morality, attitude and behavior. We are crucial pillars of society. If we cross the line, people would lose faith forever…
