Delhi’s consumer court slapped around 55 lacks fine on ICICI bank for using goons to recovery. A decision has been seen very crucial as most the banks across the country using this illegal way to recover doubtful debts. The court has termed the way against genuine practices, which Indian banks likely to be undertake. While hearing on complaint file by Delhi’s one of the customers in this regard, court attributed this landmark decision. The complainant had purchased a car on loan from ICICI bank. But, he failed to pay all installments on time. The so-called recovery agents cum goon beaten him and his friend’s son mercilessly and took possession of the car.
